  Courtney Barnett  ha sempre scritto canzoni come se fossero annotazioni a margine di una tradizione più ampia: quella dei songwriter per cui il rock non è mai stato una questione di virtuosismo, ma di osservazione, ripetizione e verità emotiva.  Creature Of   Habit , il suo quarto album, non rompe questo patto; lo rafforza. È il disco di un’artista che ha smesso di cercare una direzione nuova a ogni passo e ha imparato, invece, a camminare con decisione dentro il proprio ritmo.   There is something profoundly human about *The Beat*, something that goes beyond the music and beyond Deniz Tek ’s discography. It is an album that could never have come into being had it not been for this precise moment in his artistic life: a record built upon the drum tracks left behind by Ric Parnell , who passed away in May 2022, ten years earlier, during the sessions for *Mean Old Twister*.
